A perfect picture showing the white coral-sand beach, lagoon, barrier reef with crashing surf, and deep blue ocean beyond. This is taken on the best public sand beach in Moorea, Temae beach, on the point north of the ferry dock before swinging west towards Cooks bay, very near the airport. White sand beaches are not in abundance in these islands as one might expect. There are black sand beaches in areas also, but still, few and relatively far between. White sand is made from coral, not rock, so is less abundant.
