This is a view of the same white sand beach on Moorea. This
captures, for me, the true beauty of the islands. This was at the end of "high"
season, and it was easy to get pictures on a perfect day with virtually no
one there. We say perhaps 15 people on the beach in the hour we spent walking
there. Only 200,000 people visit French Polynesia each year, so crowds are
not yet a problem. Most tourists are French, and women normally sunbath topless,
so be prepared. Sunbathing is extreme in the tropics and should be approached
with great caution for sunburn.
