There is a garden, owned by Marimari Kellum, the daughter of one of Moorea's most famous archaeologists, Medford Kellum, which is open to the public. It is on the shore of Cook's Bay, and provides a great sample of local flora. These "Bird of Paradise" are abundant around the island and in this garden. Evidently, often Marimari will provide a tour if you ring the bell at her gate. Cost is only a couple of dollars if Marimari is there. If not, and the gate is unbarred, just go on in and do a self tour. Don't forget to take the path along the bay.
