Wuhan - Bonsai Tree & Scholar's Rock Garden 1

This site was once the private home of a prince who collected Scholar's Rocks and Bonsai Trees; along with some other archeological artifacts. This outside shot shows some of the stones and bonsai, and it is all contained in a not-too-well designed garden. The collectibles, however, far outstrip the garden design for the outside and are absolutely stunning.

One disturbing thing happened here. We had privately visited a Buddhist Temple, the Guiyuan Si, which is a functioning Buddhist Temple in Wuhan containing scores of exotic buddha carvings and many buildings dating to the Ming. On mentioning it, seeing as it was directly across the street from this garden and museum, it was completely ignored as the guide for Wuhan toed the party line and didn't acknowledge any religious presence whatsoever. Such a shame.
