Another picture of what I think is a most beautiful scene in a placid, tropical sort of way. An attempt to show the preponderance of these karst peaks in this region. I think I'll wax philosophical again, in the other direction this time.
The current government of China, though successors to Mao, are making drastic changes. Walking through the streets of even such a small city as Guilin, one sees raw, burgeoning capitalistic commerce everywhere. I had developed some breathing difficulties, like we all did on the trip from the air pollution, but in looking about I was able to find abundant medicines, modern and traditional. Business are everywhere and vary from huge department stores just like in America, to street stalls where one can buy almost anything imaginable. Fear not the Chinese military, but the businessman.
