To the far north is Chiang Rai. This is a scene in the downtown open-air market. Fresh-water crabs, alive, alive, alive-alive-o. A wonderful marketplace to wander through, with a delightful dining area for local foods.
We took a trip on the Mekong river, and visited the "golden triangle" confluence of the Ruak and Sai rivers, which then form the Mekong (Mekong) river.
We saw the abandoned, never-completed gambling casinos in Burma. Chiang Rai is small but fun and quiet.
