Cook's Bay from the Belevedere. There is often a tour ship
for French Polynesia anchored in the bay, I think this was the Paul Gauguin.
It visits many of the islands providing a wonderfully scenic, contained opportunity
for those of such a nature. The journey up to the Belevedere can begin at
one bay and end at the other. Mt Rotui separates the two bays and provides
dramatic jungle-covered steep sides. In the area of the Belvedere lie the
largest of the archeological sites on Moorea, the marae or "temples"
of the island chains.
