Here we are on the “battlements” of the Palace, overlooking the valley in the background which goes all the way to the Atlantic.  This Palace is about 300m above the old City Center where we stayed.  We also hiked up another peak across from the Palace to the “Queen’s Chair” to get a view of the Palace as the Queen liked to see it.

This was a good way to live back then; and it’s a rewarding site to stroll through after the beautiful but steep and long climb up from the city.
