Bud & Polly - Bud's 100th Birthday & Beyond

Above are Alan, Bud and Polly chatting shortly after we arrived. Right are Alan and Bud sharing old stories and lies.
As the party winds down, Alan and Alice say goodby for now. I don't think it ended early on Bud's account, as he and Polly went out to dinner with friends later that evening. He's still raring to go at 100.

The ZLAC provided a limo for Bud & Polly's transportation. Here they are leaving the party. At 100 you'd think it was to go home to bed, but not Bud, it was on to dinner and drinks with other friends.

It was Polly's 87th Birthday the day before Bud's 100th; and Polly's was the day after Alan's paltry 61st Birthday.

In January 2007, Alan called and told me that our old friend Bud was having his 100th Birthday with a party at the ZLAC women's rowing club which he and Polly managed for 50 years. I couldn't miss that event so quickly arranged a flight and went to San Diego.

I had a great if short visit with Alan & Alice and then we went to the party and it was super; what a treat and honor to Bud and Polly.

Alan sharing old stories in a "Toast and Roast" for Bud. Notable was the story of the "Frog Gigging" trip where the boat flipped over soaking the three of them.

Alan became Bud & Polly's local 'son' over the years, sharing their lives.

In March 2007, Bron and I went down to San Diego to join Alan, Alice, Gail, Jim and others for the annual Catalina Marathon weekend. During our visit, we took Bud and Polly out to "Pat's Ribs", the new 'hot spot' in town with a wating line all day long. Here we are with the owner Pat talking to Bud.

Bud still goes out and does a bit of partying . How many folks at 100 go out for ribs at the 'hot joint' in town?
