Siem Reap - Local Sights - 2006
This is the view from our room at the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor. Built in 1929 and visited by celebrities like Charley Chaplin during its lifetime. It served as headquarters for the Khmer Rouge during the Genocide. It was restored in 1990 to being the leading, classical European-style hotel in Siem Reap. That is the King's Residence directly across the street.
