Siem Reap - Ta Prohm - 2006

But let’s get back to the “roots”.  Here is a picture of our little “gang of four” at an entrance to one of the buildings.  You can see the growth twining down; and in this one, you can see that there is an older, dead tree being overgrown by a newer, live tree which has white roots compared to the brown of the older one.

Notice the blocks lying about randomly.  This site has not been restored past removing a large amount of the jungle and some of the trees, leaving many in place for their photographic impact.

This is a wonderful place to wander about and enjoy without much strain or hurry.  It was about the only site where we actually encountered a number of other tourists and had to wait for some clear picture opportunities, and in some instances simply had to take a picture with people in it.
