Siem Reap - Bayon - 2006

Here is the obligatory “sunrise visit” to one of the many sites.  We went to The Bayon and with the lack of crowds, had the place to ourselves for a bit of meditation and watching the sun light the many faces of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara that adorn the walls and towers.  The sun, however, wasn’t too bright behind the haze so the effect was somewhat lost to us, but the experience was well worth getting up early. If you look closely to the upper-left of the tower, you can make out one of the faces; then look to the center right edge of the tower for a profile of another of the faces.
