Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC or Saigon), This is taken on our walk back from the museum in the Vietnamese equivalent of Starbuck's. We each had a coffee, and they serve a pot of tea with it. The coffee is served as a bit of very strong coffee in an individual drip filter on each cup with a tiny amount of hot water. It is like a European Espresso, only it is a very slow drip brewing.
This is the only picture of the three of us in HCMC. The waiter took two great pictures of us on the roof of the Rex Hotel when we had dinner there, but evidently he was nervous as the pictures were blurred too much to use, but not enough to see on the tiny LCD of the camera.
We arrived in HCMC in the evening of the 28 th too late for touring. We stayed at the Majestic Hotel, another great old classic European-style hotel that has been completely refitted and upgraded. A great place. We really only had the 29 th for touring, then Kath left early on the 30 th , and we left at 0100 on the 1 st .
HCMC is a busy, huge, SE Asian City that is more modern and Western than any other in Vietnam.
