Hangzhou - Temple of the Soul's Retreat (Lingyin Si)
This shows evidence of the popularity of this site; it was impossible to get a picture of this carving without people in the foreground. This family simply went over the barrier and started putting on a lunch on the rocks in front of the carving. I would imagine that this would be considered a very auspicious site for such an affair.
Note the detail of the carvings, including those off to the right. This is an image of the "Laughing Buddha", which in reality isn't a Buddha at all but rather Hotie, a monk, and is believed to carry a bag of candy to give to the children, which you can see off to the right. In any event, this figure always brings happiness to those who believe in him.
