This picture, like many in this group as it grows, is scanned from a very old snapshot. This is the family home at 4225 Bayard, Pacific Beach, San Diego, Ca.
That's Mom and Dad. It's hard to know the timing, but I estimate that this was taken in the late 60's when I had my first tiny Kodak during my late college days or while in Navy training prior to being assigned overseas. Otherwise, it is the early 70's when I got back from Vietnam with my first real camera.
Buddies from the start. Here are Alan and I, in my front yard, at about three or so. This would be 1949 give or take a bit. In the picture above, to the right of Dad back by the house if the angle was better, you would see a tree. This is a Torrey Pine that Alan and I are standing in front of for this picture.
Our parents were friends because they both had children older than Alan and I at the same time and got to know one another from the "baby" interaction. We were together in the cradle so to speak.
I have worn Hawaiian shirts all of my life, though I stopped carrying the whistle some years ago...
And for those who don't understand my general choices for attire, here are pictures taken in 1957, 1958 & 1959 for my annual school pictures.....notice the shirts....All Hawaiin Shirts....and the beat goes on to this day!
Graduation from Pacific Beach Junior High, June 1960. Left is Michael Lawwill, I'm center, right is Roger Moore. I am still in contact with Mike, but don't know where Roger is in life!
