Next was a trip East, to Washington DC to visit Elliot and Sue. They are both, as of May 2006, 87 years old and living independently. BTW, Sue is 100 days older than Elliot.
Here we are at dinner Sunday evening with me, Bron, Sue, Elliot and two of their daughters Julie and Ellen. We had a great visit and hope to see them again sooner than later.
The next stage was less fun. Uncle Nop died May 16th after a long and painful time. Many people were busy, so Maxine put off a memorial function (wake) until June 3rd, so we were able to make it over to Vancouver.
Here is Bron talking with Maxine, who was elegant and gracious throughout.
While in the East, we couldn't resist a chance to drop down to Fuquay-Varina North Carolina and be the first house-guests for Joel and Grace. Here we all are on the patio of their new, first-house. They are doing great and have the nicest "first-house" I think I've ever seen.
Our second visit to the "ancients" for 2006 was a short trip to Marin County, California to see Carol & Bob; and Bob's sister Dottie.
Here is Carol, Bron and Dot on the patio at Bob & Carol's house.
If we use the term "Ancients", this picture is why. This group has over 390 years of life in it; and Bron and I count for only 115, leaving 275+ for Carol, Bob and Dot. Bob & Carol live in their house, and Dot lives independently in an apartment. They are together a lot and always have been
They are all doing extremely well and I hope I can be half as energetic at 75 as they all are at 90+.
