Winery Visits with Boise Friends

Above, we were visiting Story Vineyards, here to the right, we were at Boeger. While at Boeger we were fortunate enough to meet and share a taste with the owners.

In March, 2001, Bron and I were joined by our friends Kath, Holly, Bob and the dogs Bailey and Sam. We visited the El Dorado County wineries, using Placerville, CA as our home base.

What a pleasant suprise this tour turned out to be. We found unpretentious and friendly wineries with outstanding wines of all varities. I would highly recommend many of these wineries, notably for their Zinfandels, Barberas and Syrahs.

Bonny Doon has some fantastic wines, and they are a free-spirited group who run the winery and tasting room. They like a party.

Here are Kath and Bailey, between glasses.

Kath and Bron party on.

In the fall of 2001, Bron and I were joined by Bob and Kath at the Santa Cruz Mountain wineries; a favorite vacation spot for us. Here we are at the Bonny Doon tasting room.

In March, 2002, the same folks went to the Salinas Valley wineries. Without planning, we arrived on a winery tour and party weekend. Here are Bob and Bailey, napping at the first winery of the day, resting up for the gruelling bout of tasting and eating ahead.
