Glacier National Park - September 1999
Above is Glacier Lake from the south, looking north towards the mountains.
Right is a small lake we hiked to.
In September, 1999, we visited Glacier National Park in our motor home. We had never been in the park, but I had looked up some of the features on the Internet. The beauty of the park is extraordinary. We did get cut short by some storms that closed off the upper section of the park with snow.
Left is a small stream on the hike in to the small lake.
We tried to go over the "Going to the Sun" highway, but it was closed by snow. We walked up a ways...
The mountains forming the pass for the highway are sharp-edged and, I assume, rather new.
There are lovely streams everywhere.
